Hou Xiaomeng, graduated from the School of Life Sciences, Shandong University in 2011 with a bachelor's degree, and received a master's degree from the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2014. After two years as a lab manager in Wang Chu's group of the School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering of Peking University, he went to San Diego to work and study.
