Guo Zijian PhD

Dr. Guo Zijian received his doctorate from the University of Padua, Italy in 1994. He successively engaged in research work at the University of London, the University of British Columbia, and the University of Edinburgh. He returned to China in 1999 as a professor and doctoral supervisor at the Institute of Coordination Chemistry at Nanjing University; 2000 to 2009 Director of the State Key Laboratory of Coordination Chemistry in 2006; Dean of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Nanjing University from 2006 to 2014; Received Luigi Sacconi Medal in 2016; Elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2017; Dean of the Freshman College of Nanjing University in 2020. He has been engaged in research

in the cross-field of chemical biology for a long time, and has made systematic research results in the fields of transition metal ion sensing and imaging, the molecular mechanism of action of metal antitumor drugs, and targeted delivery. Current publications include J. Am. Chem. Soc. ., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Chem Sci. including more than 200 SCI journal papers, cited more than 17,000 times. He has been funded by the National Outstanding Youth Fund, the Innovative Research Group of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and 973 projects. He is currently the deputy director of the Academic Committee of the State Key Laboratory ofCoordination Chemistry of Nanjing University and the deputy editor of Coord Chem Rev. Won the Sacconi Medal of the Italian Chemical Society and the First Prize of Natural Science of the Ministry of Education.
